(You are causing needless pain for everyone and for no good reason)

Worried about the Israeli Palestinian conflict? Me too. The confrontation is very divisive to the world and is an obvious threat that affects people far and wide.

The ongoing Gaza war have created, again, more hatred towards each other, yet both sides know that they cannot “win” (So far I did not understand either side definition of a win). The likeliest scenario is that each side will declare victory regardless of the outcome which is actually a loss for both sides. Surely, they cannot get rid physically of each other and the bottom line is that they have no other choice than to live next to each other.

At this moment, there is such a bad leadership on both sides, which succeded in creating hell on earth in Gaza and its aftermath does not bode well for either. Israel hopes to eliminate Hamas and then what? Run Gaza as a large prison? Run it as a Province? Run it as ..? The Palestinian Authorities also hope to run Gaza, can they? How popular are they? How legitimate are they? Is Hamas out of the equation?

Only one solution is available. Make peace with each other. You both need a confident leadership for that undertaking. The path is worth it, it is full of obstacles but the absence of peace may have unforseen and/or unintended consequences.

The world is ready to support both sides by all available means if peace talks are undertaken, but in the absence of progress more tragedies will likely unfold as radicals on both sides will rise and create a situation where, the tails are wagging the dogs.

I am hoping that after this war episode, an overdue change of leadership and attitudes on both sides materializes that will allow for a fresh start.
